Update to include site?

Post by talkingtoes »

I see that Sites are now allowed per device. This is a nice addition, thank you.

I have multiple sites across two US states, each with a device called DVR (for example). When I visit the Console \ Management \ Devices page, or I get the Down\Recovering emails, I have to look at the _IP Address_ to know which site's DVR device needs attention.

Can you add a Site column to the left of the Management \ Device column? (And allow sorting by Site name.)

For the Graphs \ Preview, it lists the Device name in the graphic, but not the Site.

Can you add a <SITE> descriptor to the emails?
- Down Device Subject
- Down Device Message
- Recovering Device Subject
- Recovering Device Message
- Threshold Alert Message
- Threshold Warning Message

I am running Ubuntu 19.04 with it's Cacti package v1.2.2 . This is so that coworkers could upgrade the OS/Cacti easier (They didn't upgrade either for 4+ years while I did other stuffs here). I tried the pre-release of 19.10 with Cacti v1.2.4 but didn't see this wish there either.

* Side note for the image: Why is dSign in the middle of the DVR list? dSign should be before all the DVR graphs, correct? *

That would be a feature request that would need adding to thold if it's not already been added.

You should log some of this to plugin_thold, and cacti.

I guess i can see the benefits of it in thold too. I was more looking for it within Cacti itself.

What do you mean "log some of this"? Sorry. It's a Monday over again.

I'm thinking something like '|host_site|'. That should be pretty easy to do. Someone needs to log this in GitHub I guess.
